This book is about ancient alien theory from a neurologist perspective and how when one realizes that the origin of human consciousness does not reside in the brain, we begin to understand the motives and goals of our alien visitors. The Golden Thread that Weaves a Fabric of Reason by Dr. David Weisher is a well-written and clear interpretation of the circumstances by which humans were created to fulfill the goals and purposes of the universe. Like Einstein, Sagan, and Hawking, the author questions the reasons behind mans’ presence and purpose here on earth. Were humans created to fulfill some divine objective? Or, are we here simply because of a random association of atoms, and then evolution.Knowledge is power and this book distinguishes fact from fiction. The Golden Thread examines the Sumerian and Egyptian myths from which many legendary Hebrew and Christian biblical stories trace their origins. The author believes that many of these original myths were based upon actual events.
The author cites architectural accomplishments from several different “cradles” of ancient civilization that were clearly beyond their times. The Great Sphinx, which was built an estimated 2500 years before the Great Pyramid, was carved from a solid rock mountain 240 feet long. The Great Pyramid itself was built from quarry rock weighing up to 80 tonnes each that was transported from a quarry 500 miles away. Sacsay huaman, which consists of walls built of vertical stones weighing up to 128 metric tonnes each that fit so precisely a knife cannot be inserted between them is estimated to have been built in the early Stone Age, 30,000 years ago. Just barely out of the Stone Age, the Sumerian civilization produced the lunarsolar calendar, advanced geometry, the first slide rule used for advanced astronomy, the wheel, as well as sophisticated architectural devices.
In each of these examples, humans performed feats that were well beyond the traditional timeline of human civilization. To explain this phenomenon, the author notes that, in humans, there was, “an explosive flash of cerebral development that cannot be explained by evolution alone.” Supporting the author’s theory is the fact that in 2006, scientists discovered Human Accelerated Regions(HAR) on Chromosome 20, HAR-IF, of the human genome. Scientists believe that HAR-IF is responsible for the fact that human brains evolved much larger and with more functions than the brains of other mammals. How did this anomaly end up in human DNA?
The author also provides evidence supporting his hypothesis that the human consciousness goes beyond the physical neurological being. He provides evidence supporting that our consciousness survives our physical being, and states that our further understanding of quantum physics may ultimately provide the scientific explanation for phenomenon that have been experienced.
In summary, Dr. Weisher’s background as a translator of the Sumerian language, aerospace computer engineer, deep-sea diver, and Board Certified neurologist enables him to bring a unique perspective in his pursuit to understanding why we humans are here. The result is nothing less than fascinating.

The topics of this book are laid out in systematic way as to lead to the authors overall hypothesis. It allows a reader to be exposed to a variety of topics that will most likely lead them down a road of further research!
Overall nice read I will recommend this book to family and friends.
Dr. Weisher does an outstanding job of presenting this compelling evidence and intriguing information in terms that we as 'laymen' can understand. Found the content to be fascinating and thought provoking.
Very thought provoking and is the first author I've read who proposes a rational explanation for heretofore unexplained phenomenon.
Riveting and convincing
Recommend to everyone. Filled in some gaps I didn't know I had. Deep and profound. Makes all the sense. Spellbinding.
Added some science to the NDE and the ancient astronaut theory. Overall I enjoyed the book but felt there were some things that could definitely be argued differently. For example he stated there are no known endogenous hallucinogens within the body. I would argue that DMT is found in the body and has been defined as either an entheogen or hallucinogen depending on your own viewpoint. However, to his point, during an extended cardiovascular event there would no longer be neuronal transmission so the NDE could not be a hallucination. His take on the 3 Sumerian gods is interesting but some of his explanations for their actions requires some leaps of faith.
First, let me say that I came to this book with greater belief in the ancient alien theory than other "religious" interpretations of why we have evolved to what we are today. This came long ago from my first reading of Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Daniken. This book is a very logical argument, armed with a dialectic of facts and reason of why we may not be alone. Weisher expands on the physical theory of Alien involvement in our development through theories of DNA manipulation to serve the needs of the these "visitors" and how they have "watched" and sometimes effected the development of our world. Perhaps with their long term interests at risk.
There are the somewhat usual discussions of the the buildings, architectural knowledge of space and time that many feel couldn't have been available to our ancestors. But there is also an acknowledgment of how these events were accounted for in scripture and other writings that many accept as their "faith". There is also an interesting discussion of the "after life" and re-incarnation that is built on the logic of Weisher's arguments and experience. I found the book enlightening and interesting . I'm gladI found it. It is a book that I will pass on to others...
